Potions

Potions are magic in a bottle, crafted from alchemical components and infused with Mana to grant their unique properties. Creating potions often requires rare or hazardous materials, making them difficult to craft and expensive to acquire. The most powerful potions demand the purest ingredients and must be infused by a Mage of significant skill to ensure stability. Potion-making is not without risk, as it involves trapping pure astral energy in glass, where even a minor mistake can have fatal outcomes. Despite the dangers, their usefulness and convenience make potions a lucrative product for those daring enough to concoct them.

Drinking a potion costs 5 Stamina and provokes an Attack of Opportunity if consumed while occupying a threatened square. A person can only benefit from one of each type of potion at a time. For instance, if someone drinks a Potion of Ability to boost their Strength by 1, they cannot gain the benefits of another Potion of Ability until the first potion’s effects expire. If they consume another potion of the same type, the second potion has no effect on the consumer. However, multiple potions of different types can be used simultaneously, such as a Potion of Growth and a Potion of Swiftness.

Tier 1 Potions

Health Potion Ⅰ Heals the consumer for 2d4 + 1 Health Points. 50 G
Potion of Ability Ⅰ Grants a +1 bonus to either Dexterity, Strength, Fortitude, Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma (this must be determined at the time it is created and cannot be changed). This effect lasts for 1 minute. 100 G
Potion of Assurance Ⅰ When this potion is consumed, the drinker is able to add 1d4 to a single attack roll, skill check, or saving throw within 1 hour. A person can only gain the benefits of this type of potion once per day. 30 G
Potion of Dark Vision Grants the ability to see in pitch dark up to 100 ft. This effect lasts for 30 minutes. 75 G
Potion of Growth The consumer’s Size increases by 1 Size category, and they receive the benefits of that Size category. (Link) This effect lasts for 1 minute. 50 G
Potion of Remedy Cures the drinker of the Sickened condition. 30 G
Potion of Resist Element Ⅰ Grants Damage Reduction 5 against the damage type of the element this potion was made for (this must be determined at the time it is created and cannot be changed). This effect lasts for 1 minute. 75 G
Potion of Shrink The consumer’s Size decreases by 1 Size category, and they receive the benefits of that Size category. (Link) This effect lasts for 1 minute. 50 G
Potion of Swiftness Increases the drinker’s Stamina pool by 1 for 3 rounds. 100 G
Potion of the Spider Upon consumption, the drinker’s hands become sticky, giving them a +10 ft Climb speed. This effect lasts for 5 minutes. 25 G
Potion of Waterbreathing When consumed this potion allows the drinker to filter oxygen out of water, allowing them to breathe while submerged. This effect lasts for 1 hour. 50 G
Stealth Potion The skin, clothes, and all items carried by the consumer become translucent, giving them a +10 bonus to Stealth checks. This effect lasts for 2 minutes. 400 G
Tier 2 Potions

Health Potion Ⅱ Heals the consumer for 2d8 + 4 Health Points. 300 G
Mana Potion Ⅰ Restores the consumer’s Mana pool for 2d4 + 1 Mana. 500 G
Potion of Alertness Allows the drinker to gain the benefits of a Long Rest without having to sleep. If the consumer performs any strenuous activity (ex. fighting) they only receive the benefits of a Short Rest. 650 G
Potion of Chance Ⅰ When consumed, this potion expands the Critical Range of all attacks by 1 for the next 10 minutes. 600 G
Potion of Constitution Grants the consumer 10 Temporary Health Points for 1 hour. These Temporary Health Points can be healed if lost but disappear once the potion’s duration ends. 1,000 G
Potion of Flight The consumer is able to alter the gravity around themself, granting them a Fly speed of 60 ft. This effect lasts for 10 minutes. 950 G
Potion of Inquiry When consumed, this potion grants a +5 bonus on Investigation checks for 1 hour. 700 G
Potion of Invisibility This potion grants Invisibility and provides the drinker with a +20 bonus to Stealth checks. The effect lasts for 10 minutes, but ends if the drinker makes an attack. 2,000 G
Potion of Precision Upon consumption, the drinker gains a +3 bonus to their attack rolls for 4 rounds. 1,000 G
Potion of Rage After drinking the potion, the drinker is overcome with a wild rage, boosting their attack power but lowering their defensive focus. They gain a +2 bonus to attack and damage rolls, but their AC is reduced by 2. This effect lasts for 1 minute. 1,200 G
Potion of Reliance When this potion is consumed, the drinker receives a +2 bonus to all saving throws for 1 hour. 1,000 G
